Problem Statement

What will life be like in 2030? People were always curious about the future and will not stop projecting their expectations for the future scenarios. This is how humans are designed. Looking into the future, consciously and unconsciously, is a central function of our large brain, and we tend to make prospections of the future events on everyday level. The UN’s sustainable development goals helped us to project not only on our own individual future but the common future of us as a humankind. Just like filters, they allow us to spot the most important though the most challenging aspects of our life enabling us to create long-lasting innovating solutions. Those solutions shall become the basis for the sustainable future.

The future has many elements, sustainable future – even more. Economic development, social development and environmental protection form the three pillars of sustainable development. Young politicians, academics and leaders in business and science are challenged to use this framework to create lasting, economically effective and healthy societies in a world with finite resources. Several decades ago it was hard to imagine this as manageable task, today we have the technologies and innovative means that enable us to think different and to see the possibilities for creating solution-based responses to inevitable changes of tomorrow.

Thereby we aim to answer throughout the Summit following questions:

What are the new ways of using space technologies to advance the life on Earth and foster implementation of SDG’s?
Can the developed world rely on emerging market growth? Do emerging technologies enable an expansion of the circular economy?
How to define economic citizenship? What is the link between the SDGs and economic citizenship?
What are the Human Capital trends now and how the learning is being reinvented? How to bridge the gap between skills required in the workplace and the training being provided?
What does it mean to be human in a global, digital age? Why do we need to re-evaluate present human rights for the future?
Which emerging technologies could be a game changer for human rights protection and enforcement in the
future and how?
What is the future of culture in a globalised era? How do high-tech technologies create new cultural forms?
How to protect tangible and intangible heritage in fast-changing world?
How new technologies and ideas can shape the future?
How can we shift from good intentions to tangible actions? Why young people are key to achieving the SDGs?
